Kelly Pearson

Kelly Pearson is a Geelong winemaker at Mt Moriac Wines. After graduating from Deakin in '93 Kelly pursued a career in PR/Marketing that morphed into the wine industry where she honed her passion for food and then in later years wine.

She worked varying roles from sales (retail/wholesale), marketing, purchasing and onto brand management in a role for a nationally recognised brand, Preece/Mitchelton Wines before taking up vintage cellar operator at Leasingham in the Clare Valley (SA).

Vintages in Padthaway (SA), Harvey (WA), Canowindra (NSW), Sonoma (California) and Long Island (New York) along with a Post Graduate degree in Oenology led to my first full time wine job in Wybong in the Upper Hunter.

Overseas stints with India’s premier winery, KRSMA Estates and then again in China in Yinchuan, Ningxia where I was involved in the Ningxia Winemakers Challenge saw Kelly win several awards.

In 2015 an opportunity came up for Kelly to settle back in Geelong at local winery Mt Moriac Wines. This new role allowed the flexibility for her to start my own business, with two wine brands of my own. She continues this work today, growing her Geelong based brand that not only celebrates with the best of the region, but celebrates women in the wine.
