 City of Greater Geelong operates a range of online marketing campaigns and tools that you can use to promote your business or event. 

Funding and advice

The City of Greater Geelong offers grants and sponsorships across a range of categories including for artists businesses events festivals and community organisations.

  • Creative Communities Grant Program
    An annual competitive grant round to support Arts Projects and Festivals a Rapid Response for unexpected opportunities and Professional Development for people working professionally in the Music Arts Culture or Heritage sectors. See
  • Community Events Grant Program
    an annual competitive grant round to support moderate-sized events which bring economic benefits to the City enrich the community celebrate common interests and provide opportunities for local participation.
  • Geelong Major Events
    The Geelong Major Events Committee aims to support the development of a broad range of major events in our region.

    Music Victoria provides advocacy on behalf of the music sector actively supports the development of the Victorian music community and celebrates and promotes Victorian music.
  • Victorian Music Development Office
    Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO) helps small and micro music businesses in reaching their full potential through research professional development and more ensuring a vibrant thriving music industry for all to enjoy.
  • Auspicious Arts
    Support unincorporated artists and companies to acquit grants
  • Music Australia
    Supports composers' musicians and organisations to create new music and present it to audiences.
  • Arts Law Centre of Australia
    Provides free or low-cost specialised legal advice education and resources on arts related legal and business matters.

Entertainment management

Management of entertainment at your event is not as simple as playing recorded music hiring an amusement ride giving out balloons to releasing balloons. Permits and plans required to deliver an entertainment program.

  • You also need a permit before performing in public organising an event in a public space or selling services food drink or merchandise at an outdoor event or festival.
