Community Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2025-29

Community plan 2021-25

Our Community Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2025-29 provides the direction for improving the health and wellbeing of the Greater Geelong community over the next four years.

This is our municipal public health and wellbeing plan, which meets our requirements under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008.

The strategy outlines six health and wellbeing priority areas:

  • Priority 1: Mental wellbeing and social inclusion
  • Priority 2: Equitable access to safe, healthy and sustainable food
  • Priority 3: Physical activity and active living
  • Priority 4: Gender equity and prevention of violence
  • Priority 5: Climate change and health impacts
  • Priority 6: Harm minimisation

Annual action plans will detail the projects and initiatives which work towards these priority areas, and progress reports will be prepared annually.

The strategy has been informed by data, evidence and consultation as outlined in the following companion documents:

  • Companion Document 1: Health and Wellbeing Profile
  • Companion Document 2: Policy and Legislative Context
  • Companion Document 3: Consultation Report.

The strategy will be reviewed annually to ensure we are also responding to emerging needs.
